Gray Sunday

  1. You write effectively about the gray Sunday, which is gray here as well. And I wrote about it. I hope you don’t mind, but I thought I’d share it with a peer:

    A Season

    Gray day
    The sky is undefined
    No curved lines

    Above
    There might be blue

    Dark-green leaves
    Attach to branches
    Of dark gray

    There might be some illumination
    In the dawn
    Or with the sunset
    In a relationship
    Of sun and moon
    Behind the horizon

    Or the mundanity
    Of the travel arc
    In hours

Or we can work in gray
    At our stations
    With refugee light
    Maybe candles
    With approval
    To eschew
    The dark

    While
    Across the room
    Some holy words are read
