After much anticipation Hocus Pocus 2 (2022) is finally out and unfortunately, it was anticlimactic. I grew up watching Hocus Pocus (1993) every year during the Spooky Season because it was funny, charming, and had all the Halloween feels. However, the sequel is a one time watch type of film, as the main story was not only boring, but seem to be a promoting the witch life to kids. I did enjoy the back story on the Sanderson sisters, which was done well and the call backs to the first film were enjoyable. Overall, it was nice to see the original witchy trio back together, but the story around it was completely missing the charm and underdog victory that the first film had, so this sequel is a 6.5 out of 10.
