As an admirer of Paris, I have been fortunate enough to be able to visit and experience all the wonderful things Paris has to offer. From it’s art filled streets to the many flavors of French cuisine available, it truly is a magical place in world. I found a book about a year after one of my most recent visits that was entitled “Paris,” published 1956 that features photographs by Martin Hürlimann. It was so interesting to see how much Paris changes between Martin Hürlimann view of Paris and my very own. Below are some of the side by sides of similar shots taken 62 years apart by two different people, enjoy.
Once a month, the full moon comes out to shine her bright, cold light during the starry night. She is exactly opposite of her counterpart, the sun and so when she is full, she is able to shine her brightest. During her complete phase, she reminds us that like her, we too will reach our fullest potential when the time is right.
Her destiny is to move in phases, as she dances across the sky. Sometimes she is blue, orange, pink, purple, and even red, but mostly she is silver. She is invisible on the most rare occasions and moves constantly to reveal multiple sides of her. The darkest hours are filled with her light, even if it’s just for a short while. She will always show us there is a process to this cosmic dance and light that lives within all of us, is there no matter what phase of life you find yourself.
Walking, just moving forward, but little was known about the final destination. There was total trust and love that filled internally, which fueled some inspiration.
The track that lead to this point is under review and the reflection causes a connection. Negatives to positives, and reverse, it all holds some satisfaction. This is the outcome of then into the now or at least, the conclusion.
The March forward season once brought an unforgettable adventure with a dear friend. There was laughter, new sights, and a forest of unknown, but sadly it had to end.
As we entered that forest, each step brought an unknown to a known and there was a sense of accomplishment taking over. From walking through all the mud to climbing that hill to see the amazing view, there was so much joy and even some closure.
It seems the best way to find direction is to go somewhere new and follow a different path, one that is unfamiliar and strange. This will be challenging at first, however it will bring so much possibility and more importantly make room for beautiful change.
This is dedicated to my dear friend Sarah, who is always there for me when I need a new statue adventure.
The last week of winter is upon us and gives us all a chance to spring forward. A new opportunity to grow in ways that were not possible over the past few seasons. Let’s all be supportive and kind to each other, we all have endured so much. Taking each moment as a chance to be great and making it the best we can. Enjoy this transition into a bloom of beauty and hope we get to see the next winter’s end.
So much happened in the last 12 months that reflecting on it feels like a decade has actually past by. Thankfully, a final adventure was had before the world flipped upside down. Those grey ice waters were terrifyingly beautiful and the northern lights were a spectacular view. In retrospect, the last trip memories provided much relief during the last year of endless lockdown.
As recovery appears to be on the horizon, the new year begins and a new perspectives arise. Here is to hoping this year brings back freedom, peace, and adventure, like the day this photo was taken – March 14, 2020.
Talking out loud to someone, who seems excited and opening up in a way that hasn’t been felt for some time. Stories of others rising above it all and change their life to a better tempo, is inspiring. The extraordinary experiences heard are even more interesting, but what’s next when there is no official plan?
The distraction is had and now another afternoon is spent alone, but this is nothing new. In all honesty, the best time is doing whatever in solitude without any plan. Being free, no expectations, and open for any possibility.
Repeats only to make sure it sticks this time. Learning how to use this is making it more clear, just go with the flow.

As we reflect on the last March, we can all agree so much was taken away in a matter of a few days. The reality that those things are not returning after a year brings disappointment, however it is one side of the spectrum of this experience. If you are reading this then you survived the past year and well, that is a positive outcome. A year filled with so many restrictions is now gone and this is a time to March Forward into a future of creating your own version of the good life.
